Wood-fired sauna with access to the lake at "Panskyi Maietok" №2286

The sauna at Panskoe Imenie is an authentic Ukrainian wood-fired steam room with intense heat and light steam, and right outside its door lies its own private lake. After working up a sweat, it’s just a few steps to the cool water. In winter, guests can arrange to have a hole cut in the ice so they can experience the very contrast of heat and cold that draws people here.

The estate is located in the quiet village of Podlesye in the Brovary District, about half an hour from Kyiv, surrounded by forest. There are no outsiders on the grounds—only guests of the estate—so you’ll have the sauna and the lakeshore all to yourselves. After the steam room, you can relax in a spacious room with a large wooden table that comfortably seats a group of up to twelve people, while the steam room itself can accommodate up to six people at a time.

It’s easy to combine a sauna visit with an overnight stay: nearby are cozy lakefront cabins with electric heating and a generator, as well as an authentic Ukrainian house with a thatched roof and a hand-painted stove. For evenings by the water, there’s a grill and a campfire, and in the summer—a beach and a fisherman on the stocked lake. Birch brooms, aromatic oils, towels, and slippers are available on-site, so you can come to the bathhouse practically empty-handed.

Children can enjoy the sauna with their parents, and for them we recommend the bottom shelf and shorter sessions. The sauna is heated in advance, so the steam room will already be hot by the time you arrive.
