The prices they advertise don't match what they actually charge. Their pricing system for rooms is confusing. A bigger room with a balcony costs 3200, while a smaller one with no balcony costs 3600 per day. Breakfast isn't included and the food from their kitchen is terrible and overpriced. If you need laundry services, you have to send your clothes three days in advance or they won't do it. The staff doesn't seem to care and they don't deliver on the services they promise. The sofas and beds are old, noisy, and even ripped in some places. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Look for a different one for a comfortable holiday, or this place will ruin your experience of such a beautiful location.

I arrived late at night without a booking and only stayed until the morning. The people running the place were rude and unwelcoming. The prices were higher than what was mentioned on the booking site. We had no choice but to stay as we needed a place for the night. But I wouldn't suggest this place if you're planning your trip ahead of time. You might get lucky and find the service better. The building and rooms were alright though.

The staff at this place are extremely rude and don't care about the dishes. You even have to wash the towels yourself. I got a towel dirty and they didn't even attempt to clean it. They just said it would cost 450 UAH for the towel. This is the worst place I've ever visited.

Your review is not true. We are nice to all our customers. Our hotel has a cafe where you can buy any food at a fair price. You didn't buy anything but we still let you use our dishes. However, we are not supposed to clean them for you. You can buy disposable dishes anywhere. Also, about the two towels you damaged - you need to pay for them. This is part of the hotel's rules.

We made a reservation through Booking. The manager immediately called us and asked to cancel the booking, offering a 50% discount. The pool and sauna are not free and are quite costly. One hour in the pool costs 150 UAH per person and the sauna costs 500 UAH. This wasn't mentioned on Booking and when we asked about it, their response was rude.

We don't suggest using the pool. It has so much chlorine that it hurts your eyes and throat. They said we didn't need to pay a deposit, but we lost half of the amount.

Prices for the hotel are too high. On the bright side, the room was very clean and the bed sheets were fresh.

Hello! After you reserved a hotel room, we offered you an upgrade to a better room because the standard one wasn't available. We made sure to follow all the booking rules. It was clearly stated when you booked that there would be extra charges for the sauna and pool. It was up to you to decide whether to use these facilities or not. Our hotel policy requires you to make a prepayment to confirm your reservation. This information is displayed on our official website and other booking platforms. We're happy to know that you liked how clean our rooms were and that you had a comfortable stay.

Sofia is a private complex that strives to justify its cost. However, my review is not about the facilities, which are accurately represented by the description and photos on the website. Instead, I want to express my gratitude towards the administrator, Stepan. Stepan is always available, provides guidance, knows the menu well, can make tasty coffee, and even prepares a sauna. He does all this as if you were a guest at his own home. You should definitely visit Stepan to experience the renowned Carpathian hospitality.

The staff is rude and arrogant, and the manager is terrible. They spent 30 minutes searching for our reservation. The room fixtures are old and breaking down. They don't provide breakfast, and you have to pay an additional fee to use the pool. I definitely wouldn't recommend this terrible place.

Hi there! Based on what you said, it seems you are a very polite and sophisticated person. Our team always treats every customer with respect and understanding. When you booked your room, it didn't include breakfast. Also, the pool and sauna services come at an extra cost, which you were informed about during booking. We hope you visit the Carpathians again, next time with a more positive attitude.

I definitely wouldn't suggest this place! It's not worth the money. The mattresses are terrible, and the slats underneath are broken. The bathrooms are so small you can't even move around. The rooms aren't very clean either.

We were tired from travelling and decided to eat there, which was a mistake. The food was awful! They claim it's all home-cooked, but it's obvious it's just cheap, pre-made food.

I regret spending my money, time and energy there.

The hotel costs a lot of money. They make you pay extra to use the pool. They don't provide breakfast. There are shoe spoons in the room, which doesn't make sense.

We reserved a room for two people for two nights on the reservation website two weeks before we were supposed to get there. The next day, they called and asked for half of the payment upfront. We got there at 11 in the morning, and the person in charge told us we couldn't check in until 2 in the afternoon. This was confusing because all the information we had said we could check in at 12. The person in charge seemed unsure about where to put us.

The hotel is in a handy spot near the bus station, with a fantastic mountain view. The rooms are cozy and there's a really warm indoor pool which is great because of the weather. The staff is friendly and makes me want to visit again.

I wanted to have a relaxing family holiday in the Carpathians. I spent a lot of time looking for a good, cheap place to stay. After checking out a few hotels, I chose this one. The location was great for walking with my kids to the city of Yaremche's museums and cultural spots. We could also walk to the famous Prut River in just five minutes. The rooms were fantastic! I'm not a hotel expert, but I can say with confidence that there was nothing wrong with them. The amazing mountain view was really inspiring and helped us escape from our usual busy lives. Taking all of this into account, plus the low cost, I would really recommend the Sofia Hotel for a holiday in the Ukrainian Carpathians!

I just left the hotel with my girlfriend yesterday and figured I'd write a review (I don't usually do this).

-The hotel is pretty cheap, which is nice.

-The staff are really worth their pay (as soon as we got back to the hotel after it rained, they offered us some tea with honey right away).

-The rooms were neat and comfortable, but I really liked the room that had a view of the Carpathians.

-I read some old reviews but didn't see anything like what I experienced.

The hotel is great and it's in a convenient spot in the city center. It's also just five minutes away from the river. The rooms are made of wood and are like something from a fairy tale. They're very clean and tidy too. They serve tasty breakfast too. The pool with lights and a waterfall was amazing and the water was really warm. We want to thank the owners for making our stay enjoyable.

I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. They charged us for three days, but the owner asked us if we were leaving the very next day. There were only four TV channels available in the room. It felt like we were in a retirement home. The beds were squeaky and the doors of the wardrobe were falling off.

Just like the last review about the broken bed and shower, we were given the same room - nothing was fixed or changed. Also, one plug on the left side didn't work.

Don't expect this hotel to provide things like liquid soap, disposable slippers, or bathrobes. The price of the room doesn't match the poor conditions. They only give two towels per person, and cheap soap, shampoo and gel.

On a positive note, we were able to check in late at night, around 10-11 pm, after a scary situation where we almost fell off a cliff and had to be rescued by emergency services.

When I mentioned at the front desk that we had a tough day, while standing there in dirty clothes and with dirty bags, the response was, "we all have hard days." Yeah, right.

Booking over the phone was a nightmare because the woman on the other end was unhelpful and the man who picked up the cell phone sounded drunk. When we got there, we checked out the room and then checked in.

On the bright side, both the rooms and the hotel overall were very clean and nice. There's parking available on the premises and the pool is heated. It's also located in the city center.

On the downside, we had to learn to talk in hushed voices because the hotel felt more like an old folk's home. Getting in and out of the place was a hassle because it was always locked, so you can't freely stroll around until sunrise. The dining area and fridge are communal but the kitchen is for staff use only.

The hotel's management was bad. Despite booking two rooms through a booking agency, they insisted on a prepayment to confirm the booking. We tried to get payment details by emailing and calling them for two days, but we had a hard time reaching them. When someone finally answered, they had to check with the owner and then we were left hanging. It seems like the owner and staff are out of touch with modern customer service. If you want a terrible experience instead of a relaxing vacation, book this hotel in Sofia.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. I asked if I could check out an hour late and they said I would have to pay 750 UAH. The hotel wasn't busy. We also had to wait outside in the cold for over an hour when we checked in, or else we would have been charged for an extra day. They charge 90 UAH for a cup of tea. The shower and bed in the room were broken, I have pictures to prove it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel in Yaremche because they don't treat their guests well.

Some of the furniture is a bit damaged, including the toilet handles. Also, before you pay to use the hotel's pool, it's a good idea to check out the pool area first and see if the temperature in the room and the water is comfortable for you.

We had initially agreed with Vitaly that Sofia Hotel was a top-tier place and so we booked an apartment there. However, when we got there, a woman claiming to be a security guard wouldn't let us in. We were left standing outside with our bags and child! She said she was calling the owner, but he didn't pick up, so we couldn't get in. We ended up having to find another hotel that was welcoming. I really wouldn't suggest going to this supposedly "high-end" hotel!

The last visit wasn't enjoyable at all. The host was drunk and had his friends over. Later in the day, they invited a woman who seemed to have loose morals. I was promised a discount of 600 grn, but only received a 100 grn discount. The pool was dirty. The woman they had invited was screaming all night (probably because she was paid to do so). The only good things were the sauna and the lady at the front desk who also cooked - the food was great and she was very nice, trying her best to make up for the rest of the experience.

I wouldn't suggest this place. The internet doesn't work and when I asked them to fix it, they ignored me. The bathroom was filthy and the shower drain was blocked. The breakfast was very basic. It was cold in the winter and the staff wasn't friendly. The rooms weren't soundproof; I could even hear whispered conversations from the room next door. They didn't replace our towels for a whole week. My friends and I go on holiday to Yaremche twice a year and this was the worst hotel we've stayed at. I strongly discourage staying here.

The management was not professional and they were not friendly to guests. We had a company party at this hotel during winter. It's sad that even though there are many hotels in the Carpathians, their service is still very old-fashioned. It was raining and we asked if they could put up the canopy in the courtyard. They told us it was only for summer use, but they finally opened it after we asked again. They also warned us that it was broken and could fall down.

The Wi-Fi was not good and we couldn't connect to it. The walls were very thin so you could hear all the noises in the hotel, especially from the other side of the wall. The rooms didn't have a kettle, cups, or a fridge.
